Late arrivals

How Foodie captures a "running late" message, reassures the guest, and pings your host stand.

When a guest calls because they're running late. Foodie takes the message, alerts your host stand, and tells the guest you'll hold the table.

What Foodie does

  1. Detects intent ("I'm running about 15 minutes late").

  2. Collects:

    • Reservation name or phone number

    • How late they expect to be

  3. Reassures the guest the team has been notified.

  4. Drops a Late Arrival notification in your Inbox immediately.

  5. Pings whoever subscribed to Late Arrivals (host stand iPad).

Card type in the Inbox

Yellow / amber card "Late Arrival Notification."

  • The reservation it relates to is linked.

  • Your team can text back from inside the app if needed.

Configuring the message

The exact wording Foodie uses to reassure the guest is configurable. Default is:

"No worries — I'll let the team know you'll be a few minutes late."

Customize it under Voice & personality if your brand voice demands a specific phrasing.
