Decisions you'll make

Overview of the eight key decisions that shape how Foodie works at your venue.

These eight decisions shape how Foodie works at your venue. We walk through them together on the onboarding call — but reading ahead helps the call go faster and the choices stick.

The eight decisions

Decision

Why it matters

Should Foodie pick up everything, or only when nobody answers? Determines what guests hear when they call.

Confirmation Needed, Send a link by text, or fully Integrated with OpenTable / Resy / SevenRooms.

Where the cutoff sits between Foodie auto-booking and Foodie capturing a lead for your events team.

Whether Foodie handles them directly, or transfers when a deposit or hold is involved.

Tone, voice, language(s), and pronunciation of names and dishes.

When Foodie can transfer to a human, and to which number.

Who on your team gets pinged when, by what channel.

If you run more than one venue: org vs venue, rollout order, super-admins.

How decisions get back into the app

Each decision page on this hub is paired with a step in the in-app setup wizard. The wizard asks the same question, lets you pick, and writes the answer to your venue's configuration. The Notion page is the why; the wizard is the where.

A note on changing your mind

Most of these are settings, not contracts. You can switch reservation method, change the voice, or rewire notifications anytime — and we'll help you think through the impact. The two exceptions are anything that involves your phone provider (porting, routing rules) and pre-booked reservations (changes flow through your booking system, not Foodie).
