The basics: your venue's name, address, contact info, and time zone. The minimum Foodie needs to handle most calls.
Fields
Basic info
Business name — exactly as you want guests to hear it. Example: The Carbon Bar.
Business description — short, evocative. Example: Southern-inspired smokehouse and bar with pit-master platters, fried chicken, steaks, craft cocktails, and an extensive whisky list.
Address — street, city, state/province, postal code, country.
Google Maps link — paste the direct URL. Foodie texts this when guests ask for directions.
Contact
Phone number — your main published number, with country code. Example: +1 (416) 947-7000.
Contact email — e.g., [email protected].
Website — official URL.
Regional
Time zone — ensures reservation times are stored correctly.
Language — the primary language for guest communication. (For multi-language, see §2.5.)
Best practices
Be guest-friendly. Description should focus on what guests care about (location, atmosphere, signature dishes), not your operational details.
Use the Google Maps link. It's the most-requested piece of info, by a wide margin.
Match your website. Description should sound consistent with what's on your site — if those phrases match, Foodie sounds on-brand.
